The term "No-Scalpel" Vasectomy under- scores the fact that "cutting" is not involved in the procedure and therefore there is less bleeding, less pain, and no stitches.
Two unique instruments are used to perform the procedure: a specially designed vas fixation clamp (ring forceps) and a curved surgical disector. After anesthesia, the fix- ation clamp is used to encircle and secure the vas without penetrating the skin.
Then the disector is used to puncture the skin and vas sheath and to stretch a small opening in the scrotum. The vas is delivered with the same disector and afterward occluded.
